Please see the announcement about the show and I hope to see all of you at the reception. I have a whole new body of works that can light up any wall. One special thing about this show is that I intend to donate 25% of the proceeds from sales of original art to the buyer's choice of Charity.
SAVE THE DATE- AUG 10TH, 2024 FOR MY SOLO SHOW RECEPTION FROM 1-3 PM AT LIVONIA FINE ARTS GALLERY.
A lot happened in the past month! I was in India at the beginning of June. It was on an action packed and inspiring journey to the Himalayas and a badly needed R&R at a spa. I returned rejuvenated, enjoyed visits from my children and grandchildren and have immersed myself into creativity. I also got a commission from a friend who wanted me to write a poem combined with my art for the 40th birthday of their son and daughter-in-law and gave me a few keywords. She had liked my poems from the theme of ‘Symphony of sentiments’ show and wanted me to make something along that idea. I enjoyed the challenge and wanted to share these creations with you.
I have continued to participate in shows and won a couple of awards that you may have seen on my social media posts.
My artwork - "Poppies" that has won Finalist Award in Flower Power 2024 Art show.
This abstract floral also depicts expressive use of color, texture, and loose, gestural brushwork to capture the vibrant essence and emotive spirit of nature's floral beauty through an artistic lens and painting techniques.
Three artworks below won Distinction Award for Living & Breathing 3 Contest from Gallery 4%
1. Vigilant buddies - Two tigers are on a tree branch hobnobbing and watchful.
2. The long ranger - A turtle cruising under water as I saw in Galapagos Islands. It was a very unique opportunity to capture this picture under water, the brilliant colors were even more vibrant in its natural state. I used copper leaf besides acrylic paints.
3. Vigilant - A colorful leopard sitting in a meadow on a golden canvas in bright semi -representational colors to give a sense of light radiating from inside him telling humanity to protect them.
I hope your summer is going well so far, with lots of creativity, some R&R. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have warmly welcomed my newsletter. Any time any of you want to see more than what is on the website, please reach out to come browsing in my studio. And share this with anyone interested in my art and I hope to see you at the reception.
Sending joy and love to you all!
